Great but no windows 11 as advertised. So far very pleased but, contrary to listing, processor does not support windows11 (yes there is a possible workaround) - a minor disappointment for me.

Satisfied. HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini PC Exceptional performance in a compact design! This mini PC exceeded my expectations. It handles multitasking smoothly, has ample storage, and the connectivity options are fantastic. Perfect for both work and entertainment. Highly recommended!"
Really good basic pc for a great price. For the price this mini pc can do all the basics. Even play some older games but nothing too recent or graphic intensive. I bought it for an older family member who was just learning how to us a pc and it worked out well. Loads quickly pretty quiets. Does get a little warm with prolonged usage. Came with everything needed to get up and running. It came with win 10 a the time been using over a year and still no issues. Has built in sound card as well.
Zippy performance in a very small package IF you actually get the "Mini" version. NOTE: My usage does not involve gaming. I wanted a smaller PC for office use, surfing and monitoring one surveillance camera. The Good: Very compact, I was surprised at how small it is. Can easily pick it up and lift it with one hand. I most definitely got the "Mini" version (i.e. not just Small Form Factor). What I received is 2" larger in 2 dimensions compared to a 5X5 NUC (Next Unit of Computing form factor). Zippy performance on this HP with a Core i5 2.5 Ghz CPU. (Perspective: For YouTube 1080p and general surfing, this HP 800 Elitedesk feels as fast as my other PCs which are i7-4790K with 16GB RAM PCs that have top quality Solid State Drives). Boots quickly. No overheating. Once I started using it, I said to myself "Why do people even bother with Intel (or AMD) NUCs? (i.e. the 5X5" "Next Unit of Computing" form factor). From what I read, many of the people that go with NUC sized units have nothing but overheating and driver problems. None of that here with this HP unit.256GB Fast SSD drive but after formatting and putting windows on it, you get 233GB - still pretty good.Totally silent. Many USB 3.0 ports. The Bad: No HDMI out. It has Display Port and VGA. ( I ordered a DP to HDMI adapter. We'll see. For now I'm using VGA as a workaround.)No Operating System disk as a fail safe if I needed to do a reinstall / repair. No OS image on USB drive, or recovery partition (that I can find) provided on the SSD drive. No papers or instructions of any kind - which doesn't bug me that much but no license key is a bit annoying. You boot as Local Adminstrator with a "Null" (blank set) password. I immediately reset it and created other accounts for daily use. There are many Amazon "resellers" of this HP. I deliberately chose one with a 100% rating and paid 40 - 50 dollars more for that. I can say that the computer I received is what was actually pictured/listed/presented. Mine arrived packaged well and came with basic keyboard and mouse. ABSOLUTELY NO BLOATWARE.. YAY! So far, I am very pleased with what I got. I think if you were to buy from a lowball (bottom price or rating) you are asking for trouble. YMMV.I can definitely recommend this PC...IF ...what you receive is what is pictured/presented fulfilled from a reliable Amazon reseller (sub vendor?). Again, I was pleasantly surprised by the performance and value I got. In the future I may give up on custom build-my-own full sized PCs.UPDATE: My SSD (Solid State Drive) died after 6 months. It was an off brand, but for the time it worked it was very fast. PC abruptly became unbootable, the "hard drive" utility check in the BIOS confirmed it was dead.THE BAD NEWS: I had to order a replacement drive as I was way beyond the resellers 90 day warranty. I stepped up to a Samsung 870 SATA SSD drive.THE GOOD NEWS: In their defense, they pointed out that my Windows 10 install key was embedded in the PC - presumably in the BIOS firmware. This saved me $140 on the purchase of a new copy of Windows 10 Pro. All I had to do is find a spare USB drive (8GB minimum, I used a verbatim 16GB USB), go to the Microsoft Windows 10 download site. I did ** NOT ** chose the ISO option. The software was literally placed on the USB drive ready to go. When I power cycled it, Windows 10 installer came up and NEVER prompted me for a license key! Yay! And once install was completed, there is no prompt for activation.TLDR: The Install Key - FOR THE MODEL I BOUGHT AND RECEIVED - was embedded in the HP Elite BIOS. This is a pretty cool thing!Addendum: HP provides this micro-thin, custom SSD data/power connector on this PC. Is looks to be custom and care should be handling it as it is PCB tracings on a thin flexible plastic. HOWEVER, it works great! They had to engineer it this way to get things this compact. BOTTOM LINE: Changing / upgrading the SSD on this unit is VERY low hassle! Cheers!
I've purchased multiple HP 800 series mini-pcs over the years. I've purchased multiple HP 800 series mini-pcs over the years and they have all been great at their given tasks. For instance, two deployed at the moment are:- Running a 24/7/365 Twitch stream (Music videos, been going non-stop for a year now)- Feeding calendar/photo slideshow/security cam to multiple monitors in our homeThese little PCs are great and can do most anything you throw at them, within reason. They are clearly not meant to be gaming computers, but will easily run low end games like Minecraft, browser games, NES/SNES/Sega/PS1-3 emulators, etc. They are built for office work, so you could use it as an actual workstation until the sun burned out.Pros:- Tiny, easy to hide behind a TV/monitor or in your utility room as a server- Solid material and workmanship- Reliable, very set-and-forget capableCons:- None, yet
