The ELRO FF0404 Fire Prevention Set consists of a number of indispensable products to protect your home against fire damage in one go. This set ensures that placing the smoke detectors is a piece of cake. Activation is easily done to connect the supplied 9V battery to connect to the smoke detector. You place one of the magnetic discs on the smoke detector and the other on the ceiling. Finally, you click the smoke detector with the magnetic disc to the ceiling. We recommend placing at least one smoke detector on each floor of your home. Always place a smoke detector on the ceiling. The best places to place a detector are part of your escape route, for instance in the corridor, the landing and stairwell. Carbon Monoxide Detector The ELRO FC2702 carbon monoxide detector is supplied with the necessary mounting material (screws and plugs) as standard. This allows you to easily and quickly mount the detector to the wall. Hang it on the wall at about 1.5m from the floor. Also, make sure that you are at least 1.85m away from any combustion apparatuses. Please note that because the actual alarm may be damaging to your hearing when you are nearby, the test volume will be somewhat more muted than the actual alarm sound. Fire Blanket The ELRO fire blanket is a safe and very effective product to extinguish a starting fire. To put out such starting fires it is important that you can act quickly. Therefore hang the fire blanket in rooms where a fire may break out in a place where you can easily reach it. In case of fire pull the handles to remove the blanket from the packaging. Then place the blanket over the burning object and make sure the sides fit well. The blanket is made of a woven glass fibre. Maintenance Smoke Detectors and Carbon Monoxide Detector To ensure the optimal operation of the detectors, it is important to keep them clean. The easiest way is to clean it once a month with the vacuum cleaner. Never use detergents when cleaning detectors. Additionally, we recommend you to test the functions of the detectors every month by pressing the test button. Fire Blanket Remove the fire blanket from the packaging every year and fold it out completely. Then check the blanket for damage or colour differences. Also check whether the handles are still firmly attached to the blanket. Discard the blanket when you come across damage.
